Demo Update 2


Smaller update today, smaller and focused fixes. 

  • Improved player collisions 
    • Players no longer can get stuck on the edges of tiles, this was causing wasted jumps and interfering with the flow of gameplay
    • Collisions with hazards in the environment should feel more precise and less frustrating
  • Improved the jump pads across all levels
    • Behavior is more consistent and is less tied to the jump force of the player on contact
      • Jumping into the pad from below still factors in the strength of the initial jump, it applies less now
      • Landing on top of the pad or falling onto one feels way more consistent 

Just some little things today while I continue to work on more content for the coming days and weeks! 


** UPDATE ** 

Another small update should be going live now. This addresses some unexpected behavior observed with the level transitions:

  • Identified and addressed a formatting error that could occur when interacting with level transitions
    • If an invalid time or a time that has somehow broken format is stored when a level is cleared, the player will still be able to advance to the next level however that time will currently just be set to a default value. 
      • As I learn more about the issue a more concrete fix will be on the way 

This fix is more of a bandaid, currently, I've only seen one report of this happening and I'm not positive what the root of the issue is, by deploying this fix now players can be sure that they will be able to progress, and I will be able to dial in on the issue!
